Apple Truphone e-SIM Product Design
Role: Senior UX Writer
Brief: Design end-to-end user journeys for the pioneering new e-SIM product
Responsibilities: Concepting, design strategy, UX, content design, copywriting, UI
A true sleeping giant in the tech and telecomms world, Truphone were asked (yep, asked) by Apple to create new iPhone and iPad e-SIM integrations using their pioneering location-responsive mobile data network.
Apple wanted the journey to be so fully intertwined with their devices that it works like an app, looks like an app, feels like an app, but isn’t an app.
I worked alongside both companies to produce a central UX concept, develop user journeys, UX and UI designs, and write microcopy for the site-to-setup interactions.
Sensitivities around who’s product this actually was played a huge part in the cross-band content I produced. It was vital to strike a balance between selling Truphone’s tech proposition and upholding Apple’s brand and service. I also defined a copy voice that both brands were comfortable with (no mean feat).
This content included Truphone’s B2C and B2B marketing material, service descriptions and branded content.
